n Ethernet cable (CAT-5 or greater recommended)
•Use only a shielded STP or ScTP LAN cable which is available at retailer.
•The normal shielded-type Ethernet cable is recommended. If a flat-type cable or unshielded-type cable
is used, other devices could be affected by noise.
•When using this unit connected to a network with no DHCP function, make the settings for the IP
address, etc., at “System Setting” (vpage21).
•When setting manually, check the setting contents with the network administrator.

You can connect this unit to your network (LAN) to perform various types of playback and operations as
follows. Make network connections for this unit by carefully reading information on this page.
•Streaming playback of tracks from a media server on the network
•Control of the DN-700R via the network
•Archive function that sends files to a server via the network (vpage53)
When “29 Network Standby” (vpage 23) in “System Setting” is set to “On”, the network can be
used to control the unit from the standby status.
Network settings need to be configured after the network (LAN) is connected. For details, see “Network
Settings” (vpage52).
