USB mode (Connection between DN-F650R) and the computer
When a computer is connected using the provided USB cable to
the USB port on the DN-F650R, the following operations can be
performed.
Transfers data stored on an SD card of DN-F650R to a computer and
plays back and copies data on the computer.
Transfers MP3 or WAV files stored in a computer to an SD card of
DN-F650R.
Connecting to a computer
The computer connected to the DN-F650R must be running one of
the following operating systems.
WindowsXP, Windows Vista, Windows7, MacOS X
When DN-F650R is connected to a computer, an SD card mounted
on DN-F650R is recognized as a removable disc by the computer.

Switch on the computer.
For details on how to operate the computer, see the computer’s
operating manual.

Press the power switch on the DN-F650R.
The DN-F650R power switches ON.

Mount the SD card into the DN-F650R.
For details on the mounting the SD card, see “Mounting recording
media” (vpage8).

While the DN-F650R is stopped, connect the
computer to the DN-F650R PC USB port using the
USB cable provided.
When the connection is complete, the DN-F650R display looks as
follows.
The computer will recognize the SD card mounted on DN-F650R as
a removable disc.

Remove the USB cable.
After the required tasks for USB mode are completed, remove
the USB cable from DN-F650R. The USB mode is canceled and
DN-F650R returns to the stopped state.
NOTE
Do not remove mounted recording media from the DN-F650R while
it is connected to the computer. Doing so may cause the data on the
recording media to become corrupt, and may damage the recording
media.
You cannot perform USB drive operations in the USB mode.
You cannot use the USB mode when a recording media is mounted
in the USB drive.
n About DMP Mark Editor
You can use a computer to edit the files and marks recorded on a
recording media of DN-F650R with the supplied Windows application
program “DMP Mark Editor”.
GMain functionsH
Plays back, copies, divides, and merges files.
Adds and deletes marks.
For details on the installation and operation procedures of the DMP
Mark Editor, see the DMP Mark Editor Instruction Manual stored in
the supplied CD-ROM.
Dividing a file
You can divide a recorded file at the specified position.

Perform a le search, pause playback at the position
where you want to divide a le, and then press
REC/M.TRACK.
“Divide?” is shown in the display.
If you do not wish to divide the file, rotate the jog file to “No”, and
push the jog dial.

Rotate the jog dial to select “Yes”, and press the jog
dial.
“Executing...” is displayed, and the file is divided.
When the division process has finished, “Completed” is displayed,
and playback is stopped at the start of the second of the divided
files.
“_A” is added to the end of the file name of the first file.
“_B” is added to the end of the file name of the second file.
You can also divide a file by pressing REC/M.TRACK during playback.
NOTE
Files with file names that contain more than 253 characters cannot
be divided.
In this case, “Long Title” appears in the display. Rename the file,
and try dividing again.
VBR files cannot be divided.
