3. DEVICE OPERATION
■ DN-F400 display information
When an SD card is inserted in the DN-F400, setting information, time information, and text
information are displayed on the display unit of the DN-F400.

Time information
■ Time information
The following information is displayed in order by pressing the DISPLAY button on the DN-
F400.
ELAPSED (elapsed time)
: The elapsed playback time is displayed in seconds. The time for more
than 100 minutes is displayed as “99:59”.
REMAIN (remaining time)
: The remaining time is displayed. The time for more than 100 minutes is
displayed as “99:59”.
Display OFF
• If there is no media device detected, “--:--“ is displayed.
■ Setting information
Playback mode indicator
• This is displayed when programmed playback mode (PGM) or random playback mode
(RND) is set.
• For setting random playback, use switches 2 and 4 of the MODE switch on the rear panel.

Repeat indicator
• This is displayed only when repeat playback (RPT) is set.
• For setting repeat playback, use switch 3 of the MODE switch. (See page 11)
■ Text information
Folder symbol and folder name
• Displays the name of the currently selected folder.
• If there is no media device detected, “---“ is displayed on the right of the folder symbol.
Filename
• Displays the filename of the currently selected file.
• If there is no filename, “-
-
-“ is displayed.
Note:
• Two-byte characters like Japanese are not displayed correctly.
■ RC-F400S display information
• When the RC-F400S is connected to the DN-F400, and an SD card is inserted, the main
mode is displayed on the display unit of the RC-F400S.
• The display unit of the RC-F400S has two display modes: file-list mode and hot-start list
mode.
