EDITING AND ERASING FILES
2 Recorded file names can be changed, and files can be divided.
2 Recorded files you do not need can be erased.
2 Memory cards can be formatted for use on the DN-F20R.

In the stop mode, press the MODE button.
The preset mode is set.

Select the file name editing mode.
Press the ª button to display “MODE:FILE NAME EDIT”.

Press the ENTER button.
The file name change mode is set.

Input the new file name.
Use the FWD and REW buttons to select the character
(letter or symbol) to be input.

Move the cursor to the next position.
When the button is pressed, the cursor moves to the right.

Repeat steps 5 and 6 to input the new file name.
The file name can contain up to 8 characters.
Press the button to move the cursor back to the left.

Press the ENTER button.
The changed file name is entered and the preset mode is
canceled.

The selected character at the
position of the cursor flashes.
When the STOP button pressed
while selecting characters, the
character currently being selected
is cleared and the character that
was set before a new character
was selected reappears.

Select the file to be edited.
Select the file. (See page 16.)
When the STOP button is pressed, the character at the
cursor position is cleared.

If the file name has been cleared or if there is already
another file with that name in that directory, “CAN’T
NAME CHANGE” is displayed for 2 seconds and the file
name change mode is canceled.

Upper line: Name of file before
change
Lower line: Name of file during
change
The characters (letters and symbols) shown below can be
used for file names. The displayed character changes in
order each time the FWD or REW button is pressed.
