e When “Menus” is selected:
1. English (Factory default)
Select this to display the menus in English.
2. French
Select this to display the menus in French.
3. Spanish
Select this to display the menus in Spanish.
5. Other

Select this to display the menus in a language other than the ones
above. Use the number buttons to input the 4-digit language number
shown on page 56.
r When “Ratings” is selected:
(1) When playback is not restricted (Level 8)
Level 8 (Factory default)
Select this to play all DVDs.
Level 7 to Level 2
Select this to play DVDs for general audiences and children. Adult
DVDs cannot be played.
Level 1
Select this to play only DVDs for children. (Adult and general
audience DVDs cannot be played.)
Level 0
Select this to disable playback of all DVDs.
Use this for example to disable playback of adult DVDs on which
the rating level is not recorded.
If a rating of Level 7 or lower has been selected, use the number
buttons to input a 4-digit password, then press the ENTER button.
Do not forget the password.
Once locked, the setting cannot be changed without inputting the
correct password.
Press the ENTER button.
(2) When playback is restricted (Level 0 to 7)
Use the number buttons to input the correct password, then press the
ENTER button.
Select the item with the

and
ª
cursor buttons and press the ENTER
button and follow the on-screen instructions.

The settings are completed and the screen in step 1 on page 46 reappears.
To return to the previous menu screen:
Press the RETURN button.
To exit the default settings:
Press the SET UP button.
NOTE:
• Some discs may not be encoded with specific rating level information though its disc jacket says that it is for “adults”.
For those discs, the age restriction will not work.
