3. DEVICE OPERATION

NORMAL PLAYBACK

Before starting playback

Before turning the power on, set the MODE switch on the rear panel of the DN-F400 according

to the intended use. (See page 11)

1. Set the POWER ON/OFF switch of each device to ON after connecting the DN-F400 and

RC-F400S.

• On the display of the RC-F400S, the startup display “DENON PROFESSIONAL” appears.

• The version information is displayed on the DN-F400 during startup.

(Example: “A-1.00”)

• Once startup completes, file information is displayed on the display unit of each device. (See

page 4)

2. Insert the SD card to be played into the slot of the DN-F400. (See page 7)

If the storage medium is formatted other than for FAT16 or FAT32, “Unformat” is

displayed.

1. Starting playback

• Press the 2 button (DN-F400) or the 2 / ; button (RC-F400S). The button lights in green,

and playback of a track starts.

2. Pausing playback

• Press the ; button (DN-F400) or the 2 / ; button (RC-F400S) during playback.

• The play button flashes.

• Press the 2 button (DN-F400) or the 2 / ; button (RC-F400S) to resume playback.

3. Stopping playback

• Press the 91 button.

4. Advancing to the next track during playback

• DN-F400: Press the ¢ button.

• RC-F400S: Turn the 4/¢ jog wheel clockwise.

5. Returning to the beginning of the current track during playback

• DN-F400: Press the 4 button.

• RC-F400S: Turn the 4/¢ jog wheel counterclockwise.

• If the jog dial is turned within 1 second from the top of the track, playback skips to the

beginning of the previous track.

6. Manual search forward

DN-F400: Press the ¢ button.

RC-F400S: Press the ¡ button.

• Every time the ¡ button is pressed, the playback point advanced one file.
