If your AV compenent is net a Denon product or if it cannot be operated using the preset memery, it can be controlled with the accessorieus
remote control unit by storing its remote control signals in the remete control unit.
For some remote centrol signals it is net pessible to "learn" the signals er the device will not eperate preperly. In such cases use the remote
control unit included with the device to operate it.

Press the USE/LEARN button with the tip ef a pen etc., te set
the learn mode.
Beth the mede selector buttons and LEARNED/TX indicater
flash.
Flashes
Press the mode button of the equipment for which learning is
desired.
Mode button and LEARNED/TX indicator flash.
CABLE

Press the button that is to be learned.
The LEARNEDfrX indicator stops flashing and the mede
butten lights.
Mode button and LEARNED/TX indicater flashed if a button
that cannet be "learned" is pressed.
Te cancel, press the USE/LEARN butten.
Point the remete centrol units directly at each other and press
and hold in the button en the other remete centrol unit which
you want to "learn".

release the button on the ether remote control unit.

flashing again.

To "learn" other buttens, repeat steps 2 to 5.

Once the learning operatien is completed, press the
USE/LEARN button again.
The mode button and the LEARNED/TX indicator stop flashing
and the learning mede is cancelled.
_the stored codes
work properly.
NOTES:
If the codes ceuld net be stered, the LEARNED/TX indicator
start flashing rapidly. For limited number ef medels, codes
cannot be stored in RC-974.
If the mode butten and LEARNED/TX indicator start flashing
rapidly, this means that the memory is already full, and the code
you have just attempted te store was not stered.
To "learn" that code, first perform the resetting operation. (See
page 56.)
