Turn the SELECT knob to select the surround

To select the surround mode while adjusting the surround parameters, channel volume or tone control,

press the SURROUND MODE button then operate the selector

Press and hold in the surround parameter button to select the parameter you want to set

• The parameters which can be set differ for the different surlound modes (Refer to "Surround Modes and

Parameters" on page 231

Display the parameter you want to adjust, then turn the SELECT knob to set it

NOTE:

• When playing PCM digital signals or analog signals in the 5CH STEREO, ROCK ARENA, JAZZ CLUB, VIDEO

GAME, MQNO MOVIE or MATRIX surround modes and the input signal switches to a digit al signal encoded

in Dolby Digital, the Dolby surround mode switches automatically When the input signal switches to a DTS

signal, the mode automatically switches to DTS surround

Surround parameters _s_

ROOM SIZE:

This sets the size of the sound field

There are five settings: "small", "reed s" (medium-small), "medium", "reed I" (medium-large) and "large"

"small" recreates a small sound field, "large" a large sound field

EFFECT LEVEL:

This sets the strength of the surround effect

The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15

DELAY TIME:

In the matdx mode only, the delay time can be set within the _ange of O to 110 ms
