NOTES:
-- Assignment of low frequency signal range (2-1) --
The only signals pleduced flem the subwoofel channel are LFE signals (during playback of Delby Digital el DTS signals) and the low
frequency signal range of channels set to "SMALL" in the setup menu. The low frequency signal range of channels set to "LARGE" are
preduced from those channels.
-- Crossover Frequency (2-4) --
When "Subweofer" is set to "Yes" at the "Speaker Configuration Setting", set the frequency (Hz) below wMch the bass sound ef the
various speakers is to be output frem the subwoofer (the crossever frequency).
Fer speakers set to "Small", sound with a frequency below the crossever frequency is cut, and the cut bass seund is output frem the
subwoefer instead.
(• When the subwoefer set to "NO", the bass sound is output frem the speaker set as "Large".)
NOTE: For ordinary speaker systems, we recommend setting the crossever frequency to 80 Hz. When using small speakers, however,
setting the crossover frequency to a high frequency may impreve frequency response fer frequencies near the cressever frequency.
-- Subwoofer mode (2-5) --
The subwoefer mede setting is only valid when "LARGE" is set fer the frent speakers and "YES" is set for the subwoefer in the "Setting
the type of speakers". (see page 30).
When the "LFE+MAIN" playback mede is selected, the low frequency signal range of channels set to "LARGE" are preduced
simultaneeusly from those channels and the subweofer channel.
In this playback mode, the low frequency range expand more uniformly threugh the room, but depending on the size and shape ef the roem,
interference may result in a decrease ef the actual w)lume of the low frequency range.
Selection of the "LFE " play mede will play the low frequency signal range of the channel selected with "LARGE" from that channel enly.
Therefere, the low frequency signal range that are played from the subweofer channel are only the low frequency signal range of LFE (only
during Dolby Digital or DTS signal playback) and the channel specified as "SMALL" in the setup menu.
Select the play mode that prevides bass repreductien with quantity.
When the subweofer is set te "Yes", bass sound is eutput from the subweofer regardless of the subwoefer mode setting in surround modes
other than DoIby/DTS.
In surreund modes other than Delby Digital and DTS, if the subwoofer is set to "YES", the lew frequency portien is always eutput te the
subwoefer channel. Fer details, refer te "Surround Medes and Parameters". (See page 68)
